Hennessey has started rolling out their exhaust system upgrade for the new generation Corvette, and with it, they have dropped a video that highlights the entire installation process.

Mind you, fitting the aftermarket part to the American mid-engined sports car is a very delicate process that requires a lot of know-how and the right tools, which is why the Texan tuner recommends buyers to let a professional take care of the installation.

Nevertheless, if you’re into DIY projects, then you might be able to complete the task on your own and save a few bucks while you’re at it. If you decide to let Hennessey do the job, you are looking at $2,995 for the first 100 orders of the exhaust system and $3,495 for the rest of the batch that counts a total of 1,000.

Handcrafted at the Hennessey factory in Sealy, Texas, the exhaust system features a stainless steel construction and provides a weight saving of around 10 pounds (5 kg) over the standard part. Furthermore, it also increases the power of the 2020-2021 Corvette C8’s 6.2-liter V8 by 21 HP and 19 lb-ft (26 Nm), to 516 HP and 489 lb-ft (663 Nm) of torque, and improves the sound.

The stainless steel exhaust system has been track tested to 205 mph (330 km/h) and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity with a unique serial number. Additionally, a lifetime warranty will be given to the original buyer, who will have to wait for up to 3 to 4 weeks to take delivery, as 20 units are being produced each week.
