Lamborghini has teased the long-awaited Sian Roadster before its online unveiling on July 8th at 6 PM CEST / 12 PM ET.

When the Italian marque first announced the imminent arrival of a new model last week, it appeared likely the car would either be a Sian Roadster or the Squadra Corse-developed SCV12 that has been teased in recent weeks. Now, a teaser image posted on Twitter and a second uploaded to the Lamborghini website confirm it will be the Sian Roadster.

In the teaser posted on Twitter, we are shown the car is finished in a lovely shade of blue and features the same rear fins as the Sian FKP 37, complete with the same ‘Realizzata a Santa’Agata Bolognese’ script. The second teaser provides us with a look at the rear fascia of the car through a darkened image. Viewed from the rear, there are no obvious alterations between the Sian Roadster and the hardtop.

In all likelihood, the Sian Roadster will be mechanically identical to the coupe that premiered at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show. Consequently, it will continue to use a 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 engine rated at a cool 774 hp and coupled with a 34 hp electric motor integrated into the car’s seven-speed transmission.

This electric motor is powered by a super capacitor that is three times more powerful than a battery of the same weight. All up, expect the Sian Roadster to have the same combined output of 808 hp and to be capable of hitting 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 2.8 seconds and a top speed exceeding 217 mph (350 km/h).

Lamborghini is building just 63 examples of the Sian FKP 37 coupe and there’s a good chance the Roadster will be equally as limited.
