As Ford promised one year ago, the Territory compact SUV has gone on sale in South America’s biggest markets following its world debut in China two years ago.

Essentially a rebadged and improved Jiangling Yusheng 330, the Territory can now be ordered by customers in Brazil and Argentina. In the two markets, the Territory comes with a 1.5-liter EcoBoost turbo-four engine mated to a CVT automatic that simulates eight gears and front-wheel drive.

In Brazil, the engine is rated at 150 PS (148 HP), while in Argentina it makes 143 PS (141 HP). In both cases, the peak torque is 225 Nm (166 lb-ft), available from 1,500 to 4,000 rpm.

Measuring 4,580 mm (180.3 in) in length, 1,936 mm (76.2 in) in width (without mirrors) and with a wheelbase of 2,716 mm (106.9 in), the Ford Territory is described as a leader in interior space and passenger comfort, including in the rear compartment.

Standard and available features include an electric panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree panoramic camera, ventilated and heated front seats, wireless charging for smartphones, embedded modem enabling FordPass Connect services, ambient lighting, and more. The Territory also features a 10-inch digital instrument panel and 10.1-inch Sync Touch multimedia interface with wireless Apple CarPlay, developed exclusively for Brazil and South America.

From a safety standpoint, the Ford Territory comes standard with six airbags, electronic stability and traction control AdvanceTrac, Hill Start Assist, tire pressure monitoring sensor, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, seat belt warning for driver and passenger, Isofix hooks, and electrochromic rearview mirror.

Optional driver assistance tech includes adaptive cruise control with stop & go, front collision alert with automatic braking, lane departure alert, blind spot alert, automatic parking, and automated LED headlights.

In Brazil, the Ford Territory starts from the equivalent of $30,825 while in Argentina the compact SUV is available from $41,600. The model is built in Xiaolan, China, in association with Jiangling Motors Corp (JMC).
