Acura’s PMC lineup is growing as the company has taken the wraps off the 2021 RDX PMC Edition.

Set to be built alongside the NSX at the company’s Performance Manufacturing Center in Ohio, the RDX PMC Edition gets a “healthy dose” of supercar DNA. Unfortunately, that’s largely limited to the Thermal Orange Pearl paint job which is shared with the NSX.

Besides the special paint, the RDX PMC Edition has a number of exclusive touches. These include a gloss black roof, gloss black door handles and a gloss black grille. The model also has gloss black mirrors, black chrome exhaust finishers and 20-inch wheels with a gloss black finish.

Interior changes are less pronounced, but include Ebony Milano leather sport seats with black Ultrasuede inserts and orange stitching. Designers also installed special floor mats, an individually numbered plaque and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with orange contrast stitching.

Since the special edition combines features from the A-Spec and Advance packages, the crossover comes nicely equipped with heated / ventilated front seats, a head-up display and dark brushed aluminum trim. Other highlights include adaptive dampers, a panoramic glass roof and an assortment of driver assistance systems.

One thing that’s not shared with the NSX is the powertrain as the crossover has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 272 hp (203 kW / 276 PS) and 280 lb-ft (380 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a ten-speed automatic transmission and a standard Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system.

Production will be limited to 360 units and pricing will start in the “low $50,000s.” That’s kind of expensive considering the RDX starts at $38,200, but deliveries of the special edition will begin next month.
