The Dodge Viper and Toyota Supra are two very different animals in many ways: American vs. Japanese, big displacement vs. small displacement, V10 vs. inline-six, the list goes on. On the other hand, they have their similarities as well. Both are front-engine, rear wheel drive coupes, and in the case of this video, they are both making obscene amounts of power.

Starting with the Viper, since the video clearly lists its modifications, it has a 1,300 package from tuning firm Calvo Motorsports. That means it has not one, but two 67mm turbochargers making the Viper’s 8.4-liter V10 good for, you guessed it, 1,300 hp (1,318 PS / 969 kW). Sending all that power to the wheels is a PPG sequential transmission in place of the stock T56 six-speed manual, while the output can be changed depending on the ECU program and fuel type used.

Going on to the Supra, Mod2Fame doesn’t list the exact specs of the car, only saying it has a “big turbo.” However, in another video of his, he says the Toyota’s modified 2JZ-GTE engine is making a little over 800 hp (811 PS / 597 kW) to the rear wheels and is paired to an automatic transmission.

The two cars eventually take to the street, and while the Supra initially pulls ahead, the Viper catches up and wins. Which, given its 500 hp (507 PS / 373 kW) advantage, is really not surprising at all.
