Nissan is getting ready to launch a pair of new vehicles for the North American market at 1:00 PM today. The Pathfinder SUV and the Frontier midsize pickup truck will both, finally, have the covers taken off.

If you want to watch the live presentation you can do so at https://www.nissanusa.com/live/ – or just skip below to the livestream video. The event will tell us what to expect when these vehicles start hitting showrooms for the 2022 model year.

As it stands we know quite a bit more than we normally would, actually. Engines for both vehicles have already been revealed and there’s good news if you like V6s. The Frontier will be powered by a 3.8-liter V6 while the Pathfinder will get the current model’s new for 2020 3.5-liter V6.

Both will be hooked up to a 9-speed automatic. In the Pathfinder’s case, that will likely relegate the CVT transmission to the curbside. The truck gets 310 horses, while the Pathfinder gets 284, or so we believe.

Design is set to get blockier if the spy pics and teasers we’ve seen are anything to go on. Both appear to look more rugged with crisper lines that will be a move away from their previous, more rounded-out looks.

There will still be a lot to discover about both of these vehicles and with more than a bit of competition for both, it will be interesting to see how the new vehicles stack up.

We’ll have all the information you could ever want back on this site, though, so be sure to check back in after the presentation (or just read it here if you can’t watch).
