Car enthusiasts living in Europe will be able to purchase the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray in the second half of the year but before that happens, the car manufacturer has been filmed testing a prototype under heavy camouflage in Germany.

This Corvette was filmed testing in rainy and snowy conditions in the country and the presence of camouflage, as well as thick black body cladding, quickly prompted speculation that this may be a test mule for the forthcoming Corvette Z06.

However, the prototype is lacking the same wheels as C8 Z06 prototypes snapped testing in the United States in recent months. In addition, it also has the same standard quad exhaust layout as the Corvette Stingray. This isn’t to say that the C8 Corvette won’t be an exciting inclusion to the European sports car market as it absolutely will be, even though it will cost quite a bit more in Germany than it does in the U.S.

When the 2021 Corvette lands on European shores, first in Launch Edition guise, it will start at €99,000 or the equivalent of almost $118,000 for the coupe, and €106,000 ($126,000) for the convertible. The Launch Edition model will include the 3LT trim level as standard as well as a Magnetic Ride Control suspension system. Models sold in Europe will also come as standard with the Z51 Performance Package.

Just like models sold in the United States and other markets around the world, Euro-spec models will feature a 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine with 490 hp.
