5.5k Mile Porsche 996 GT2 Is One Of Only 303 Produced For The U.S.

A 2003 Porsche 911 GT2 is looking for a new home and ticks pretty much every box for a sports car.

Few 911 variants are as sought-after as a GT2 and being a 996-generation model, this car is one just 303 examples that were produced for the U.S. market between 2002 and 2005. It is painted in Arctic Silver Metallic and is being sold with a Porsche Production Specifications certificate, window sticker, service records, factory literature, two keys, and a clean Carfax report. Importantly, it has only been driven 5,500 miles.

Complementing the silver paint are staggered-width 18-inch wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport tires measuring 235/40 at the front and 315/30 at the rear. All 996 GT2 models came standard with carbon ceramic brakes and yellow calipers. The Bring A Trailer listing adds that the front strut mounts and coil springs were replaced in 2019.

Found in the cabin of this GT2 are sports seats clad in black leather with embossed Porsche crests on the headrests. Despite the car’s hardcore nature, you’ll still find some creature comforts like automatic climate control, a CD stereo, and cruise control.

Power comes courtesy of a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six that’s good for 456 hp at 5,700 rpm and 457 lb-ft of torque at 3,500 rpm. Mated to this engine is a six-speed manual transmission and the listing adds that the oil pump seals and serpentine belt were replaced in 2019.

If you’re hunting for a Porsche 911 that you can comfortably drive every day and take on long road trips, this probably isn’t the ideal choice. However, if you want a 911 that is perfect for canyon carving or the occasional track day, this GT2 could be a very good option indeed.
