A few years ago, there was a bizarre internet trend of supercar owners attempting to cook pieces of meat with the flaming exhausts of their cars. Evidently, some are still doing this and one such stunt recently almost ended in disaster.

It is understood that this video was filmed in Changsha, the capital of China’s Hunan province. It shows an individual holding a skewer next to the exhaust of a Lamborghini Aventador as someone revs the Italian supercar.

The 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 of the Aventador is known to encourage the exhaust to spit flames and for a few seconds, it can be seen doing just that, much to the enjoyment of all those around. Before long, however, steam starts to pour out of the engine bay.

At the same time, red coolant can be seen spreading across the ground, suggesting that either the revving caused the reservoir tank to rupture or for a coolant hose to burst. The owner of the Lamborghini can be seen opening up the engine bay to help cool things down.

However, things could have been so much worse. A few years ago, the Aventador was recalled because if the fuel tank was overfilled and an owner was to rev the car excessively, fuel vapor could come in contact with the hot exhaust gases and trigger a fire. What’s more, the Aventador was parked next to a yellow LaFerrari and had it caught fire, the blaze could have easily spread to the Ferrari as well.
