Audi has paused production of a host of models due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.

In a letter sent to dealerships that was viewed by Automobilwoche, Audi revealed that it will “stop production at some locations for days or weeks.” Models thought to be impacted include the Q4 e-tron, A4, A5, A6, A7, TT, Q7, and Q8. Audi warned that dealerships should be prepared for “significantly longer delivery times” of these models.

It is understood that Audi will resume production of the A4, A5, A6, and A7 in the first and second weeks of April while production of the TT, Q8, and Q4 e-tron models is tipped to resume in mid-April but initially only at low volumes.

Automobilwoche adds that the A1, A3, Q2 e-tron, Q5, and A8 have only been impacted to a small extent by the war.

Audi’s biggest roadblock is shortages of wiring harnesses that it sources from Ukraine. Production at some suppliers is thought to have collapsed completely since the war began while production at other sites has been severely restricted.

News of Audi’s struggles comes just after Renault announced that it will halt its industrial activities at its Autoframos manufacturing plant. Renault has come under fierce criticism since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine as it owns a 67.61 per cent majority stake in Lada Auto Holding that owns Russia’s largest vehicle manufacturer, AutoVAZ. Through this stake, Renault accounts for 30 per cent of Russia’s new car market and employs 45,000 people in the country.
