Chevrolet has slashed prices for the 2023 Bolt EV and EUV at a time when prices for most new cars are soaring to record heights.

Obviously eager to encourage sales of the two electric vehicles after a disastrous 2021 plagued by recalls, General Motors has announced that the 2023 Bolt EV will start at $26,595 including destination, a cool $5,900 less than the 2022 model. Prices for the 2023 Bolt EUV have also fallen by $6,300 to $28,195.

Two variants of the Bolt EV and Bolt EUV are available. While the entry-level EV 1LT starts at $29,595, those after a little more luxury can opt for the 2LT, set to start at $29,795, also $5,900 less than last year. As for the Bolt EUV, its entry-level LT is joined by the Premier starting at $32,695.

Speaking of the price cuts, a General Motors spokesperson said it reflects the company’s “ongoing desire to make sure Bolt EV/EUV are competitive in the marketplace. As we’ve said, affordability has always been a priority for these vehicles.”

No mechanical modifications have been made to the Bolt EV and EUV for the 2023 model year. As such, they continue to feature an electric motor pumping out 200 hp. The Bolt EV is good for an EPA-estimated range of 259 miles (417 km) while the slightly larger EUV can travel up to 247 miles (397 km) on a single charge.

One new addition for the 2023 model year is the availability of the Redline Edition for the Bolt EUV. This appearance package sees the vehicle equipped with black wheels and various pieces of red trim.

Information about the 2023 models comes less than two months after Chevrolet resumed production of the two Bolt models have previously recalled every single example it had ever made.
