A 992 Porsche 911 GT3 modified by Manthey Racing has lapped the Nurburgring Nordschleife in 6:55.737, or 4.19 seconds quicker than the standard GT3.

Like other packages sold by Manthey, its upgrades for the GT3 focus on improving the aerodynamics, brakes, and suspension, rather than working on the engine to extract additional power. In fact, the 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six remains stock, meaning it continues to pump out 502 hp and 346 lb-ft (469 Nm) of torque and still revs through to 9,000 rpm.

Manthey’s aerodynamic upgrades start with a new front splitter, canards on the front bumper, a redesigned carbon fiber rear wing, and an optimized diffuser. The car is also available with a set of Manthey’s OM-1 wheels complete with aerodiscs at the rear.

Elsewhere, the sports car has been equipped with four-way adjustable coilovers developed by Manthey. It also features braided brake lines and new brake pads even better suited to track use than the car’s standard items.

This clip of Manthey’s 911 GT3 lapping the Nurburgring shows the Porsche taking some of the circuit’s most famous corners at breathtaking speeds while also riding many of the bumpy areas with poise. Not even the infamous Carousel section of the track slows down the GT3 with the committed driver speeding through it at almost 100 km/h (62 mph).

Making Manthey’s upgrade package for the 911 GT3 all the more desirable is the fact that it does not impact the original Porsche warranty. The kit isn’t cheap, though, costing a cool €37,911 ($40,376 at current exchange rates).
