Powered by a supercharged 3.5-liter V6, the first Lotus Emira models that landed in the hands of customers are very impressive. However, that hasn’t stopped Milltek Sport from doing its part to make the sports car just a little more exciting.

Milltek Sport is a British company that produces high-quality exhaust systems for all kinds of performance cars. Indeed, this writer’s very own Renault Clio RS has a Milltek exhaust. For the Emira, the brand has created an exhaust that saves weight, improves the sound, and also adds a little extra performance.

The exhaust is made from T304L stainless steel and uses the factory mounting points. It works in conjunction with the factory OE valve control motor and a lightweight rear silencing that saves 1 kg (2.2 lbs). Milltek has also developed an optional OPF/GPF bypass pipe which saves an additional 1.7 kg (3.7 lbs).

The company says its new exhaust for the Emira results in an 18% decrease in back pressure and is compliant with noise regulations at most racetracks in the UK. Milltek is also working on an exhaust for the Emira made exclusively from titanium, revealing that it should offer a weight saving of between 6-7 kg (13-15 lbs) compared to the standard system.

As it stands, the exhaust is only suited to Emira models powered by the flagship supercharged 3.5-liter V6. Those who own an Emira powered by the Mercedes AMG-sourced 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder will need to wait a little longer to upgrade the soundtrack of their sports car.

“Once again, we are exceptionally pleased to be one of the first to offer an enhanced sports-focused exhaust for another of 2023’s most exciting performance cars,” Milltek Sport managing director Steve Pound said. “It follows our recent systems for the new Honda Civic Type R FL5 range and BMW M3 Touring, and underlines our commitment and resources in being able to efficiently bring to market superior exhausts for the most eagerly-anticipated and sought-after performance vehicles.”
