The Honda Brio small hatchback received its mid-lifecycle update in Indonesia, bringing fresh styling cues and more features. The facelifted model retains the same iVTEC powertrain and sporty-looking RS trim.

The Honda Brio remains instantly recognizable, with subtle visual updates focused on the front end. The redesigned bumper includes a larger grille combined with more modern and interconnected lower intakes. Besides the badging, the RS trim features a special pattern on the grille and a dark finish for the chrome strip, while featuring new LED headlights.

The rest of the bodywork remains largely unchanged, setting aside the slightly different diffuser and darker taillights of the RS. The latter also comes fitted with 15-inch alloys, while the regular model gets a smaller set of 14-inch wheels. Honda expanded the color palette with the new Electric Lime Metallic, Stellar Diamond Pearl, and Meteoroid Gray Metallic, next to new bi-tone options.

Moving inside, updates are limited to new trim for the dashboard and the seats. Additionally, the flagship RS trim gets a red push-button start/stop, a revised analog instrument cluster with a small display, an illuminated shifter, and the new 7-inch infotainment touchscreen on the center console which is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The naturally aspirated 1.2-liter iVTEC four-cylinder petrol engine remains the sole option under the bonnet, producing the same 89 hp (66 kW / 90 PS) and 110 Nm (81 lb-ft) of torque. Power is transmitted to the front axle through either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic. Unlike the Honda Amaze sedan which switched to a different architecture for its second generation in 2018, the Brio hatchback still rides on a developed version of its predecessor’s underpinnings that date back to 2011.

The facelifted Honda Brio is already available in Indonesia priced between 165,900,000-243,900,000 Indonesian rupiah ($11,278-16,580) depending on the trim. The locally produced hatchback remains a best-seller in the country with more than half a million sales overall. It is also exported to other markets including Vietnam and the Philippines following its demise from India.
