A pristine Ferrari Scuderia Spider 16M formerly owned by Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay has hit the market in the UK and is expected to fetch between £360,000 ($441,291) and £380,000 ($465,807).

Ferrari introduced the Scuderia Spider 16M as the droptop version of the track-focused 430 Scuderia. The ‘16M’ in the name refers to the 16th Formula One constructors’ championship that Ferrari won in 2008 and as hardcore Ferrari’s go, few are as desirable or as raw as this. Jay Kay’s car is one of just 48 units allocated to the British market and one of just four painted in Bianco white.

Jay Kay took delivery of the car in mid-2009 and kept it in his collection until 2020. It has just 5,995 miles (9,648 km) under its belt and has only covered 600 miles (965 km) under the stewardship of its current owner. The car has been listed on Carhuna and is being sold with the original toolkit, tire compressor kit, a Ferrari car cover, a history folio, and two keys.

A host of changes were made to the regular F430 Spider to turn it into the 16M. For starters, the body was thoroughly reworked and now has many more carbon fiber parts. Ferrari also fiddled with the 4.3-liter naturally-aspirated V8, extracting an impressive 510 hp from it. Sure, the current 296 GTB has more than 300 extra horses but the 16M is very light, tipping the scales at just 1,340 kg (2,954 lbs). It can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds and power through to a 194 mph (312 km/h) top speed.

The car has been thoroughly inspected by DK Engineering prior to hitting the market and was recently fitted with a set of new 19-inch Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Jay Kay commissioned it with a number of options, including carbon fiber lower sills, the complete carbon fiber exterior pack, racing stripes in the colors of the Italian flag, Nero brake calipers, and a cabin with Nero Alcantara and contrasting white stitching. The iPod Touch that Ferrari used instead of an infotainment screen has also been kept with the car.
