One would think that the Ferrari 296 GTB looks special enough right from the Maranello factory, but some owners want to take things further. Zacoe answers their needs by offering wild visual updates for the electrified supercar.

The latest bodykit by the Taiwanese tuner for the Ferrari 296 series is made entirely of carbon fiber, with an exposed finish making it look like armor. The 296 GTZ (Gran Turismo di Zacoe) as they call it, has styling references to the classic 250 LM, although its aerodynamics were inspired by Ferrari’s modern racing cars.

Ferrari 296 Receives A Serious Widebody Treatment By Zacoe

The wide fenders have integrated vents at the front, and follow the sexy curves of the supercar at the back, merging with a more pronounced rear spoiler. There are also a few aero bits like the front splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser extensions, with red accents highlighting their sharp lines.

While the previewing renderings are based on the 296 GTB, the positioning of the parts suggests that the same kit will also be compatible with the drop-top 296 Spider. Finally, a new set of alloy wheels represents Zacoe’s take on the “star” design that is closely associated with Ferrari. The tires look wider than stock and appear to be combined with a lowered suspension.

As with earlier projects from Zacoe, modifications are limited to aesthetics, leaving the stock powertrain intact. That’s not a bad thing, as the 296 comes fitted with a mid-mounted twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 and a single electric motor, producing a combined 819 hp (611 kW / 830 PS) of power and 546 lb-ft (740 Nm) of torque.
