• The exterior of the hypercar is bathed in Blu Savoia Gloss with a Bianco Sestriere Gloss white roof.
  • Powering the Battista are four electric motors pumping out 1,877 hp.
  • This special Battista has a similar configuration to Battista Farina’s personal Lancia Florida.

Automobili Pininfarina has unveiled the latest bespoke Battista, commissioned as a tribute to the 1955 Lancia Florida and adorned with a white and blue paint scheme.

Famed designer Battista Farina penned the Lancia Florida in the early 1950s and his personal car served as inspiration for this electric hypercar tribute. It’s dubbed the Cinquantacinque and is painted in Blu Savoia Gloss contrasted with a Bianco Sestriere Gloss white roof. The blue is slightly brighter than Farina’s Florida but suits the Battista perfectly.

Elsewhere, the small carmaker has fitted the car with its Brushed Anodised jewellery pack while the interior is adorned in heritage leather from Poltrona Frau. And the name? Cinquantacinque translates to 55 in Italian, referencing the year the original Lancia Florida was unveiled.

The company hasn’t said who the lucky owner of this Battista is nor where it will live. What we do know is that it will be presented at a special event in Tokyo, Japan, and shown to clients in the region alongside the marque’s local retail partner.

“This was a truly special and unique opportunity to design a car that plays homage to Pininfarina SpA’s heritage,” Automobili Pininfarina chief design officer Dave Amantea said. “The color combination of the Battista Cinquantacinque is incredible and shows the vision Battista Farina had when he designed the Lancia Florida back in the early fifties. Not only that, but that very same model helped guide me when creating the PURA Vision design concept, a truly unique vehicle that sets the template for future models from Automobili Pininfarina.”

Like all other Battistas, the Cinquantacinque is powered by four electric motors combining to produce 1,877 hp and 1,726 lb-ft (2,430 Nm) of torque. The hypercar can sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a blistering 1.86 seconds, 0-124 mph (200 km/h) in 4.75 seconds, and tops out at 217 mph (350 km/h).
