• The hybrid V8 supercar is finished in a special color known as Blu Elder.
  • A set of bright gold wheels perfectly contrasts the stunning exterior finish.
  • The track-focused SF90 delivers 1,016 hp through all four wheels.

Ferrari is building just 599 examples of the hardcore, track-focused SF90 XX Spider, and one of these rare machines is currently up for auction. The Italian marque will probably be none too pleased that someone is already parting ways with their XX, but this could be a good opportunity for anyone who missed an allocation from the factory.

Perhaps the first thing you’ll notice about this SF90 XX Spider is the color. It’s painted in a special shade known as Blu Elder, which we first saw a few years ago on a Ferrari 488 Pista Spider. It has a purple tinge and a pearlescent gold flair under direct light. Chances are, there won’t be another SF90 XX in this same color.

Contrasting the paintwork are stunning gold wheels and just about every carbon fiber option imaginable. This is as good as SF90s get, and the odometer shows just 62 miles (100 km).

Ferrari went to town on the flagship SF90, making significant mechanical and aerodynamic changes. It’s the first Ferrari road car to have a fixed rear wing since the legendary F50 and features a thoroughly revised front fascia, helping it to deliver 1,169 lbs (530 kg) of downforce at 155 mph (240 km/h). It’s also lighter than the standard model, thanks to the liberal use of carbon fiber.

The 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 has also been fettled, helping it to deliver 786 hp. The three electric motors then boost the output to a combined 1,016 hp, allowing a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.3 seconds.

The SF90 XX Spider was priced from €850,000 new. The Collecting Cars listing doesn’t mention how much this car cost, but it was inevitably quite a bit pricier than that.
