If you love trucks, hot dogs, and the open road, and you also happen to be a recent college graduate staring down a job market that keeps asking for five years of experience for entry‑level pay, Oscar Mayer has some tasty news that might feel oddly on‑brand.

The company is accepting applications for its next class of Hotdoggers, the official spokespersons who will pilot the Wienermobile across the US throughout 2026, all while getting paid just enough to justify turning your degree into a yearlong stint inside a giant rolling snack.

The Wienermobile itself dates back to 1936, though the Hotdogger program didn’t start rolling until 1988. Since then, it’s offered a small group of applicants the chance to serve as roving brand ambassadors in one of the most unmistakable vehicles ever to grace American roads.

As laid out on the official Kraft Heinz careers page, the one-year tour kicks off with two weeks of “immersive onboarding and relevant job training”. From there, Hotdoggers get coaching sessions and, once their tour wraps, access to post-program opportunities within the broader Kraft Heinz ecosystem.

Hotdoggers aren’t assigned a single region. Instead, they swap routes and partners halfway through their tour, covering more than 30 states and attending hundreds of local events.

Driving is only part of the job. The team is also responsible for content creation, social media posts, videos, photo ops, and “meat and greets” with the public, not to mention the occasional TV or radio spot.

Oscar Mayer says it wants “outgoing, creative, friendly, exuberant” recent grads, ideally with degrees in PR, marketing, or communications, who are ready to spend a year playing brand mascot on wheels.

You’ll need solid communication chops, decent time management, and a working knowledge of social media. Prior travel or public-facing experience is a plus, but mostly, they’re looking for someone willing to smile through a 12-month road trip in a fiberglass hot dog.

Applications are open now through January 31, 2026. The competition is fierce, with more than 5,000 submissions each year, but only 12 lucky candidates will earn a spot behind the wheel of the giant hot dog.

Under the Bun

Of course, the vehicle itself has seen updates over the years. The current model measures 27 feet (8.2 meters) and sits on a truck chassis powered by a GM-sourced V8 engine. Its distinctive shell, shaped like a hot dog resting in a bun, is constructed from fiberglass.

Oscar Mayer keeps a fleet of six Wienermobiles active. Earlier this year, the group made headlines after participating in a friendly race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Not long after, one appeared in a Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid commercial, driven by a dog.
