• Chicago Auto Show returns February 6.
  • So far, no debuts have been announced.
  • A family visit could cost nearly $100.

The Detroit Auto Show was another snooze fest as we didn’t get much besides the Bronco RTR, Mustang Dark Horse SC, and North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year Awards. Ram also staged the public debut of the 2027 1500 SRT TRX and 2500 Power Wagon, but both models were shown to the media in December and officially introduced on New Year’s Day.

That’s hardly a great start to the auto show calendar and things aren’t looking up anytime soon. In particular, the Chicago Auto Show returns on February 6 and its most exciting media event appears to be the U.S. Army MRE Snack Break at 1 pm.

As of this writing, there are no press conferences of note. While there are “new vehicle” walkarounds from Kia, Stellantis, and Toyota, that doesn’t mean these companies will actually introduce new models at the show.

Instead, they’ll likely showcase existing products. However, there could be an announcement or two.

While this remains to be seen, it’s never a good sign when the media center and show floor closes at 2 pm. That means the entire media preview will only last six hours, which is barely longer than the drive from Detroit to the Windy City.

Chicago’s Auto Show Starts Soon, And It Might Already Be Over

Of course, auto shows are losing importance and have transitioned away from being media events. If that doesn’t bother you, the public portion of the show runs from February 7-16.

Adult (13+) tickets cost $20, while children (4-12) and seniors (65+) can get in for $15.00 before taxes and fees. While children under three are free, a family of four could easily be looking at spending $85.30 to $97.48 when everything is factored in.
