- Kuhl gives Land Cruiser 250 a 7-inch lift and 37-inch tires wide.
- Bigfoot SUV adds steel bumpers, pipe fenders, roof rack, spoilers.
- Iron Build debuts in Tokyo, with a sportier bodykit set for Osaka.
Japanese tuner Kuhl has a reputation for going all-in on visual drama, and their latest build keeps that streak alive. Fresh off the reveal of their Toyota GR86-based Outroad, the team is bringing something even more imposing to the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026, a heavily modified Land Cruiser that looks less like a showroom SUV and more like a cartoonish colossus built to flatten trails.
This heavily modified SUV has been given what Kuhl calls the “Blocker Iron Build” treatment. The highlight is the massive wheels making it look like a life-sized tonka truck. It rides on a set of 22-inch Kuhl Verz DR03 alloy wheels with a deep-dish design, wrapped in massive 37-inch Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 mud-terrain tires.

That rubber isn’t just for show. Combined with a height-adjustable suspension and spacers sourced from JAOS, the Land Cruiser Iron Build now sits a full 7 inches (178 mm) higher than the stock model. Ground clearance tops out at 15.7 inches (399 mm), officially surpassing even the AMG G 63 4×4².
Fully Armored, Top to Bottom
Kuhl didn’t stop at just the lift. The build includes a full suite of steel body components. There are front and rear bumper guards, side steps, and chunky 2.8-inch (70 mm) diameter pipe fenders. Up top, a branded skid plate protects the underbody while a full roof rack holds a 40-inch IPF LED light bar. There’s also a roof wing extension and an extra spoiler mounted on the tailgate.

The Iron Build is set to appear at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026. In the meantime, Kuhl is developing a sportier FRP bodykit for the Land Cruiser 250. The upcoming package will feature redesigned front and rear bumpers with cut-outs to accommodate the oversized wheels, along with wide fender extensions.
These new components are scheduled to debut at the Osaka Auto Messe 2026, taking place from February 13 to 15.
The company is also offering the Land Cruiser Iron Build for sale, either as a complete vehicle or in parts for those who already own a compatible model.
The first available example is built on the VX trim and keeps the standard 2.7-liter gasoline engine. It’s listed for ¥6,790,000 (roughly $43,300 at current exchange rates), with ¥920,000 (about $5,900) of that total reflecting the cost of the upgrade kit.
While it does get the full Kuhl Blocker Iron Build treatment, this version is slightly more restrained, running on smaller 18-inch Verz-Kross X6 wheels wrapped in less aggressive cross-country tires. Still, it’s hard to call anything about this truck subtle.
