• TRD adds a front lip, side skirts, and rear spoiler.
  • Owners can order new 20-inch aluminum wheels.
  • Modellista also offers its own range of accessories.

The Toyota RAV4 has never exactly traded on thrills, which is why the new 2026 RAV4 GR Sport feels like such a curveball. Pairing a punchy plug-in hybrid powertrain with styling that genuinely suits the GR badge, it shows that Toyota’s bread-and-butter SUV can have a bit of attitude.

Now TRD in Japan is dialing things up further, giving the RAV4 GR Sport a series of visual and aerodynamic upgrades. For now, the parts have only been announced for the Japanese market and are unlikely to be offered elsewhere. That is disappointing for buyers abroad, but it keeps things interesting on Toyota’s home turf.

TRD’s alterations start at the front, where a new front lip sharpens the SUV’s face and adds a modest aerodynamic benefit. It is joined by new side skirts finished in subtle silver, along with a distinctive rear spoiler that carries matching silver accents.

Buyers can also spec weathershields for the side windows, plus a set of black and silver 20-inch aluminum wheels. Door handle protectors are on the menu as well. Underneath, a performance damper can be fitted at the rear, designed to reduce noise and vibration while improving handling response.

TRD has even developed so-called door stabilizers, which add a brace around the door striker. The idea is to improve steering feel by increasing body rigidity. Rounding out the catalog is a carbon fiber license plate frame.

The arrival of TRD’s parts follows closely behind Modellista’s own take on the latest generation RAV4. As we reported in December, Modellista created two separate bodykits: the Lifestyle Package and the Outdoor Package. The latter is tailored specifically for the Adventure trim, Japan’s counterpart to the Woodland variant sold in the US.

If subtlety is not your thing, Modellista’s changes go further than TRD’s. They include redesigned front and rear fascias, new wheels, reshaped fenders, and revised lighting elements that give the RAV4 a much more extroverted look.
