- The M2’s Track Kit includes an adjustable front splitter and rear wing.
- BMW has also added adjustable coilovers to its smallest sports coupe.
- The CS can also be configured with a lightweight performance exhaust.
The current BMW M2 might not be to everyone’s taste visually, but argue with the way it drives at your peril. Whatever you think of the styling, this is a car that comes alive when you lean on it and actually use the chassis the way Munich intended.
Now BMW has decided that even that is not quite enough. Enter the M Performance Track Kit, a factory-backed collection of hardware aimed squarely at owners who spend their weekends chasing apexes, not aisle three at Walmart.
BMW has been developing the Track Kit since at least the middle of last year and will start selling it in Europe from July. The most obvious addition is the fitment of a manually-adjustable swan-neck style rear wing, similar to what’s used by the BMW M4 GT4 and M4 GT3 race cars.

When set to Race mode, the wing is moved 50 mm (1.9 inches) rearward, while in Street mode, it fully complies with German road regulations. It’s also possible to tweak the wing’s attack angle. BMW has even gone to the trouble of incorporating a brake light into the center of the wing.
Beyond the wheel, the M2’s new Track Kit includes a manually adjustable front splitter and diffuser, aiming to boost downforce. There are also subtle canards on the bumper and an extra scoop for the engine’s oil cooler.
Better Sound And Handling
Perhaps even more important than the aero upgrades are new four-way adjustable coilovers, adjustable top mounts, and the ability to raise or lower the car by up to 20 mm (0.8 inches). Optional track tires are also available for those eager to lower their lap times by as much as possible.
In addition to releasing this specific Track Kit for the M2, BMW has launched a new M Performance exhaust for the flagship M2 CS. It’s roughly 8 kg (17 lbs) lighter than the standard system and offered with titanium or carbon fiber tips, and should make the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six sound even better.
The M2’s new Track Kit will set customers back €23,500 ($27,700), excluding installation, while the M Performance exhaust has been priced from €8,343 ($9,800), also before installation fees.
