• Senner pushes the M2 CS far beyond its factory output.
  • Carbon aero upgrades sharpen its look and presence.
  • Forged wheels and track-ready suspension refine handling.

For some owners, the BMW M2 CS still leaves room for personalization. If you would rather skip BMW’s new optional M Performance Track Kit, German firm Senner Tuning offers an alternative. And unlike BMW, which left the engine untouched with its package, Senner has gone further by unlocking additional power. Quite a lot more, as it turns out.

But let’s start with the exterior. The changes to the M2 CS are noticeable but not overdone, and they stop short of the more extroverted M Performance parts catalog. A subtle carbon-fiber splitter now lines the lower edge of the front bumper, adding definition without shouting about it. Around back, there is a larger fixed ducktail spoiler integrated into a carbon trunk lid, giving the compact coupe a sharper trailing edge.

The M2 CS’s factory wheels have been replaced by a set of Wheelforce R.2-FG forged rims finished in Light Gold. At the front, they measure 21×10-inches while at the rear they are 21×11.5 and wrapped in 275/25 front and 305/25 rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. To get the most out of the new rubber, KW V4 Clubsport adjustable coilovers have been added.

The real transformation, however, lies under the hood. The standard M2 CS borrows its 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six from the M3 and M4 Competition, producing 523 hp and 479 lb-ft (649 Nm) of torque.

Senner has developed a carbon-fiber intake system and can recalibrate the ECU to suit. For those who want the full treatment, output climbs to 710 hp and 638 lb-ft (865 Nm). In a rear-wheel-drive sports car as compact as the M2, those figures border on the absurd.

For perspective, the original Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4, which stayed in production until 2016, produced 691 hp and 508 lb-ft (689 Nm). Yes, this small BMW now comfortably clears that power figure, driven only by its rear wheels.

Additional hardware is available for those chasing even more drama. HJS downpipes can be fitted, along with valved sports exhaust systems from Akrapovic, Milltek, Eisenmann, and Grail, allowing owners to tailor both performance and soundtrack to their liking.
