• Chevrolet launches S10 Trail Boss and Trailblazer Midnight editions in Brazil.
  • New Ironman 4×4 suspension adds a factory lift and recalibrated electronics.
  • The duo retains the standard Duramax turbodiesel and 8-speed automatic.

Brazil’s Chevrolet lineup operates on its own timeline, and it shows. The S10 pickup and its Trailblazer SUV sibling may ride on the old bones of the previous-generation Colorado, but GM is keeping them current with fresh special editions for the Brazilian market. The S10 Trail Boss and Trailblazer Midnight pack stiffer suspensions and styling tweaks aimed at the off-road crowd.

Both trucks get a reworked suspension developed with Ironman 4×4, plus recalibrated electronics. The truck picks up a 1.2-inch (30 mm) front lift, while the SUV gains 0.7 inches (18 mm) up front and 1.2 inches (30 mm) at the rear. Scorpion All-Terrain tires handle the grip duties.

Visually, both vehicles wear a gloss black front grille, matching mirror caps, and 18-inch alloys. The S10 Trail Boss adds a decal set, a roll bar, and a bed liner, though it does without the more serious hardware found in the Brutal and Invincible Packages offered on the facelifted S10 range.

Inside, the special editions are packed with features as they are based on the high-spec High Country grades of the S10 and Trailblazer. Standard equipment includes an 11-inch infotainment system, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and premium leather upholstery. The Trailblazer has a three-row seven-seater layout.

While the newer US-spec Colorado is powered by a gasoline engine, the Brazilian version sticks to the heavy-duty 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel. Following the latest update, the mill is good for 207 hp (154 kW / 210 PS) and a stout 376 lb-ft (510 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. The setup is mirrored by the Trailblazer SUV, which rides on the same ladder-frame underpinnings.

GM hasn’t announced pricing for the Trail Boss or Midnight editions yet, though both are expected to crown the Brazilian range, costing more than the S10 High Country at R$ 348,790 (US$ 70,400) and the Trailblazer High Country at R$ 422,590 (US$ 85,300).
