• The Edge went out of production in 2024, but dealers still have some in stock.
  • We found multiple examples below $30,000 thanks to sizable discounts.
  • Ford has been pushing Edge and Escape customers to the $39,260 Explorer.

Ford has made plenty of bonehead moves in the past few years, and the mistakes are costing them billions. While most of the focus has been on their disastrous EV push, attention has been shifting to their decision to axe the Escape and Edge.

While many people assumed Escape customers would simply switch over to the Bronco Sport, the sales chart tells a different story. Furthermore, the Edge routinely generated over 100,000 sales annually in the United States. That’s a lot of volume to hand over to your competitors, even if you can convince some customers to embrace the Explorer.

However, a quick search reveals dealers have over 100 new Edges in stock. Florida’s Mullinax Ford has a 2024 Edge SE listed for a mere $27,999. That’s cheaper than a Bronco Sport and this is largely due to an $11,961 dealer discount.

You can find even bigger savings on the West Coast as Downtown Ford Sacramento has a $41,520 Edge SE priced at $29,605. That includes an $85 document fee and a $12,000 discount.

It’s a similar story in Illinois, where Hawk Ford of Carol Stream has an $11,721 discount on yet another Edge SE. This lowers the cost of entry from $41,720 to $30,412 (after multiple fees).

If you’re in the market for an Edge ST Line, you’ll have to cough up quite a bit more. Herlong Ford has a white example listed for $38,998, which is only $9,157 below the original MSRP of $48,155.

Ironically, Michigan City Ford claimed their 2024 Edge “won’t be on the lot long!” We’d beg to differ as they’re asking $37,202.

As a refresher, the last North American Edge rolled off the assembly line in Canada over two years ago. An Edge L survives in China and is even imported to Mexico with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost hybrid powertrain.
