2020 VW Atlas Cross Sport Starts From $30,545, Saves You $1,000 Over 3-Row Atlas

VW has announced the pricing details of the new 2020 Atlas Cross Sport, the sportier five-seater sibling of the regular Atlas SUV.

The new 2020 VW Atlas Cross Sport is priced from $31,565, including a $1,020 destination fee, and will be available in eight trim levels and two engine options once it arrives at US dealers in the first quarter of this year. That’s $1,000 less than the three-row 2020 Atlas, both with the base 235-horsepower 2.0L turbo four and front-wheel drive.

The range of the new VW Atlas Cross Sport includes S, SE, SE with Technology, SE with Technology R-Line, SEL, SEL R-Line, SEL Premium and the range-topping SEL Premium R-Line. The most expensive model in the range is the V6 SEL Premium R-Line, which is priced from $50,815, including the destination fee.

The base S trim level offers 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels; silver roof rails; LED headlights, Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), and taillights; automatic headlights; rain-sensing wipers; cloth seating surfaces; auto-dimming rearview mirror; the MIB II Composition Color infotainment system with a 6.5-inch glass-covered touchscreen display, Front Assist, Blind Spot Monitor and more as standard.

Customers will be able to choose between a 2.0-liter TSI four-cylinder unit with 235 HP and a 3.6-liter V6 unit with 276 HP; both engines are paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and are available with VW’s 4Motion all-wheel drive system. The combination of the 2.0-liter TSI engine with the 4Motion all-wheel drive system is new to the whole Atlas range.

The new VW Atlas Cross Sport features a more aggressive styling over the regular Atlas. The front end is dominated by the three-bar chrome grille while the raked rear pillar and hatch give it an more upscale coupe-like profile. A sculpted rear bumper and up to 21-inch alloy wheels further help the Cross Sport’s visual presence.

VW claims that the new Cross Sport offers “ample” legroom for passengers and plenty of cargo space, with the dashboard featuring a redesigned steering wheel – which now features the updated VW logo – as well as available two-tone inserts with stitching accents on the door cards. In addition, all trims feature Car-Net telematics and In-Car WiFi as standard.
