• The reworked SUV made its debut at this year’s Beijing Auto Show floor.
  • A Cullinan-style grille and new hood lead the long list of exterior changes.
  • The 1,381 hp plug-in hybrid powertrain was left completely untouched.

It was bound to happen. Mansory has finally turned its attention to a Chinese car, and the result is parked at the Beijing Auto Show. It’s a reworked Zeekr 9X, the uber-luxury SUV that arrived in the second half of last year

Think of the 9X as Zeekr’s answer to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, only a lot cheaper. It already ranks among the most powerful and most luxurious SUVs on sale in China, but with Mansory’s upgrades, it’s even more extreme.

The tuner’s changes start at the front end, where the standard chrome grille has been replaced by one even more similar to a Cullinan. There’s also a much sportier bumper and a splitter that houses subtle daytime running lights. Mansory has then crafted a distinctive hood for the 9X, making it look even more imposing.

As standard, the Zeekr looks quite classy when viewed from the side, but not anymore. Custom white 24-inch wheels have been fitted alongside flared wheel arches, extended side skirts, and retractable side steps. Carbon accents have also been added to the D-pillars, while at the rear are a large roof-mounted spoiler and a subtle lip spoiler on the tailgate.

The exterior modifications include a new rear bumper with a diffuser and quad tailpipes. The 9X has then been given a white-and-bronze paint finish.

An Even Higher-End Cabin

The cabin of the 9X is already very opulent, but Mansory looks to have made it even more plush. The seats, dashboard, steering wheel, door panels, and transmission tunnel are now clad in pristine white leather with gold accents. Several carbon fiber touches have also been added to the SUV’s interior, as has black Alcantara to the dashboard.

No powertrain changes have been made, not that the 9X needs any. As standard, the flagship model uses a plug-in 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and three electric motors to produce a combined 1,381 hp, allowing it to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.1 seconds.
