- RTR’s new Signature Package lets owners build a Mustang their own way.
- Spec 3 buyers get a Whipple supercharger pushing the V8 to 810 hp.
- Painted aero parts and bright green wheels are on the options menu.
Ford already gives Mustang buyers plenty of ways to personalize and upgrade their pony car, from the factory order sheet to a deep catalog of dealer and aftermarket parts. But for those who feel even that isn’t enough, outfits like RTR Vehicles have them covered, taking the customization well beyond anything you’ll find in a Ford showroom.
Not only does RTR offer a wild supercar-slaying Mustang with its Spec 5, introduced last year, but it also offers slightly more restrained Spec 2 and Spec 3 packages, which can be customized further through the new Signature Package. Here, owners of Spec 2 and Spec 3 models can work directly with the RTR team to create their dream Mustang.

Aimed at Mustang owners who want to make a statement, the program offers configurable motorsport-inspired graphics along with painted aero parts including the front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, and mirror caps. Buyers can also add different-colored LED front air intakes and choose from a wide range of wheels with unique finishes, including a loud, look-at-me bright green.
Handling Improvements
Ford Mustangs fitted with RTR’s Signature Package also get the company’s Tactical Performance Coilovers, which offer ride-height adjustment and 30 clicks of compression and rebound. Pricing for the Signature Package obviously varies depending on how far a buyer wants to go with the customization, but the kit starts at $12,500.
RTR’s Mustang Spec 2 and Spec 3 kits are pretty special in their own right. The Spec 2 starts at $18,995 and bundles in a whole slew of upgrades, including revised exterior parts, new shocks, lowering springs, adjustable front and rear sway bars, and interior tweaks. The Spec 3, starting at $33,995, costs considerably more but justifies the jump with a 3.0-liter Ford Performance Whipple supercharger that lets the 5.0-liter V8 deliver 810 hp and 615 lb-ft (834 Nm) of torque.
