- The Eccentrica V12 Roadster is powered by a modified 5.7-liter V12 engine.
- This gorgeous drop-top can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in an impressive 3.8 seconds.
- Global production of the V12 Roadster from Eccentrica will be capped at 19 units.
Eccentrica is back at this year’s Monterey Car Week with what might be its most ambitious build so far. The new V12 Roadster arrived on the eve of the event as a modern take on the iconic Lamborghini Diablo Roadster, and it follows the shop’s hardtop model. Eccentrica has made a name for itself turning the Diablo more modern while keeping the original’s charm, and the drop-top is the logical next chapter.
Like the original, Eccentrica’s creation uses a 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V12, though it comes with several meaningful upgrades. The ECU has been recalibrated, airflow reworked, and throttle response sharpened. Together, the revised twelve-cylinder produces 550 hp at 7,000 rpm and 442 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque at 6,500 rpm.

Obviously, those figures can’t touch a new Revuelto, or even an old Huracan. What the V12 Roadster has going for it is a six-speed gated manual (even if the renders oddly show only five speeds), which puts the driver at the center of the experience. There’s still enough muscle to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.8 seconds and a 208 mph (335 km/h) top speed.
All-new bodywork means the V12 Roadster can’t be confused with a standard Diablo. The panels mix steel and carbon fiber, keeping proportions close to the original while adding modern LED lighting. Modernizing a shape as memorable as the Diablo’s is no small task, yet Eccentrica has pulled it off.
Among the key highlights are the headlights, neatly incorporated into the hood. There are also two pronounced air intakes perched above the engine bay, feeding cool air directly into the V12. All up, the V12 Roadster weighs 3,395 lbs (1,540 kg), which is relatively light by current supercar standards, and has a 41 / 59 front-to-rear weight distribution.
A Classic Lamborghini Made Modern
To ensure the Roadster can handle and brake like a modern supercar, double wishbone front and rear suspension has been installed alongside semi-active dampers and hydraulically assisted rack-and-pinion steering. There are also Brembo brakes at all four corners with 14.9-inch (380 mm) discs at the front and 13.5-inch (345 mm) discs at the rear. Eye-catching 19-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli Trofeo RS tires complete the package.
Inside, the mix of eras gets stranger. A retro-modern digital display replaces the old analog gauges, one of several cabin tweaks Eccentrica has worked in. Owners can spec out their dream interior, blending Connolly leather with Alcantara along with plenty of anodized materials and exposed carbon fiber. Pricing hasn’t been announced, though we know global production will be capped at just 19 units.
