Totem Automobili has built a name for itself as a purveyor of ultimate restomodded Alfa Romeos, and it’s now readying an even more exciting range of models. During Monterey Car Week, it pulled the covers off Tiziano, a new platform that will carry three cars known collectively as the T12 Series. Every one of them gets a V12.

For the first time, Totem isn’t starting with an existing or past production car. It has instead developed a bespoke carbon fiber central monocoque with aluminum front and rear subframes. The structure works for hardtop and convertible bodies alike, and it ties the engine, transmission, suspension, steering, braking, and primary auxiliary systems into a single architecture.
The Tiziano platform features double-wishbone suspension at both the front and rear while also utilizing a pushrod and rocker system for the springs and dampers, reducing unsprung mass compared to more conventional suspension setups. Key suspension components will be manufactured from lightweight aluminum, and the dampers will offer electronically controlled rebound and compression.
Totem will also use a hydraulically assisted rack-and-pinion steering system, with an adjustable steering column and pedal box. Brembo brakes are also utilized, with six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston units at the rear. As standard, Tiziano-based models will use steel discs, but carbon ceramics will also be available.
What Models Are Coming?
Initially, the architecture will be used for the T12 Series models, consisting of the T12 Corsa, T12 Lunga, and T12 Turismo. The first of these will be the most radical, “conceived to explore the boundary between racing machine and mechanical sculpture.” It will be joined by the T12 Lunga, featuring more muscular bodywork and larger proportions, while the T12 Turismo is being labeled as the most “elegant and sculptural interpretation of the Tiziano platform.”
Importantly, all three models will use a naturally aspirated V12 from Italtecnica, mated to a six-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential and a hydraulically operated twin-plate clutch. Totem says that when the T12 Series models hit the market, the V12, carbon fiber monocoque, and suspension system will be fully exposed, so owners will be able to enjoy the spoils of their riches.
