• BMW has unveiled carbon fiber parts for the i3 M60 and M350 xDrive.
  • Key upgrades include a dramatic diffuser and two carbon lip spoiler options.
  • The dual-motor BMW i3 M60 will top out the EV range before the M3 EV arrives.

BMW didn’t just reveal the all-new 3-Series yesterday, but it also slyly showcased a slew of M Performance Parts that’ll be available for both the combustion and battery-electric models. While pricing details for these accessories have yet to be confirmed, it’s obvious BMW wants to hit the ground running with the new model.

The first batch of M Performance Parts has been showcased on the newly announced i3 M60 xDrive model. Although the electric i3 was presented six months ago, it’s only now that the first details and photos of this performance-focused version have been confirmed, ahead of it joining the i3 range next year.

Technical specifications haven’t been confirmed, but the i3 M60 xDrive stands out thanks to a unique front light graphic and optional yellow daytime running lights. In addition, it sports distinctive graphics in the taillights and will be available with exclusive 21-inch wheels.

M Performance Parts confirmed for this model start at the front with a carbon fiber lip spoiler and winglets. It also receives carbon fiber wing mirror caps, complete with M stripes, and rocks a special set of side skirts. The aggressive tweaks continue at the rear with a carbon diffuser and a split lip spoiler, unlike any other we’ve seen from BMW. This being an EV, there’s obviously no fancy exhaust, but it still looks very purposeful.

BMW’s New M350 xDrive Joins The Party

Revealed alongside the M Performance Parts for the i3 M60 xDrive include several accessories for the gas-powered M350 xDrive. This model, which replaces the M340i xDrive, will serve as the highest-performance version before the new M3 arrives. It features a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six mild-hybrid with 437 hp and 428 lb-ft (580 Nm) of torque.

Customers who want to stand out will be able to order it with a new piano black front splitter with carbon winglets. It can also be optioned with a bright red tow strap.

The New BMW 3-Series And i3 Already Have Some Wild M Performance Parts

Elsewhere, there is a set of special M Performance wheels available, in addition to carbon wing mirror caps and distinctive side skirts. There’s plenty going on at the rear, too, including a carbon fiber diffuser similar to what’ll be offered on the i3. BMW’s M division has also developed a carbon lip spoiler and carbon tailpipe surrounds.

As BMW has released photos of these M Performance parts so soon, it seems likely they’ll be offered as soon as the new i3 and 3-Series arrive in dealerships. Pricing details are unconfirmed.
