BMW M140i And M240i Gain UK Price Hikes Over Past 235i Variants

UK pricing for the BMW M140i and M240i has been released confirming that the two models are slightly more costly than their predecessors.

Launched to replace the much-loved M135i and M235i, customers of the M140i will now have to shell out at least £31,875 (~$42,140), a small £150 ($200) premium over the M135i.

Meanwhile the M240i has brought with it a more significant rise in price, now costing £ 35,090 (~$46,400) rather than the £34,250 (~$45,300) that it once commanded. Given the improved performance of the new car’s however, we can’t imagine BMW buyers being upset with the rise in price.

Both models are powered by a 3.0-liter straight-six turbocharged engine pumping out 335 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, 15 hp and 39 lb-ft more than the M135i and M235i cars. These improved figures result in 0.3 second improvements in the respective 0-100 km/h times for both cars while also contributing to a 7 per cent reduction in fuel consumption.

These figures mean that the M140i and M240i are only 30 hp down on the BMW M2 Coupe, making them a realistic alternative costing up to £12,000 ($15,870) less depending on spec.
