As we anticipated when we first saw the “ts” designation on the BRZ’s teaser photos from the official Subaru STI site, the new version of the rear-wheel drive sports coupe will not come with extra punch from its boxer engine. Subaru displayed a concept-badged, but in reality, production ready version of the new BRZ ts by STI at the 86 festival at Fuji Speedway this week.

While the horsepower figure remains at 200, there are some worthy additions to the tS variant of the BRZ. For starters, there will be two versions of it, one of which will simply be called simply “tS,” while the other the “ts GT Pack” and it adds all of the extra bits bolted onto the exterior of the car – the white car they unveiled featured the GT Pack…

The regular BRZ tS does without the pack’s nice-looking Recaro front seats and black rims, but the special badging and updated fog lamp surrounds remain, as do the suspension mods.

Finally, according to 7Tune.com, a BRZ fitted with the GT Pack, featuring the standard six-speed manual, will cost the equivalent of $41,500 in Japan, but keep in mind that it may very well be a JDM-only model.
