Demand for new Tesla Model S EVs is high and growing, with all the positive press surrounding the car and the company that makes it helping to put it in a really positive light. In fact, second hand car search engine iSeeCars.com says it’s actually more expensive used than it is new, and that’s really rare nowadays.

The website provided information that in the 2012 – 2013 period, the average used price for a Model S was $107,000. That is an extremely high number, given that the car starts from $71,070 and rises to $94,900. However, most examples purchased new were of very high specification and their average rounded out at $106,000 – the figures do add up.

As reported by CNBC, one of the reasons for this, aside from supply not meeting demand, is the three-month waiting list and some buyers’ unwillingness to abide by it, so they just go out and buy a very low mileage second-hand example in the spec that they wanted, bypassing it altogether.
