Well that didn’t take long; just a few months after launching, a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS has just sprinted down the quarter mile in the 9-second bracket.

This particular Camaro SS comes courtesy of B&R Performance and just a few weeks ago, became the first 2016 Camaro to hit the 10-second mark with a 10.602 second time. To achieve that time, the car was outfitted with nothing but a shot of nitrous, drag radials and an ECU tune.

Returning to the drag strip in 2016, B&R Performance’s set a record 9.83 second quarter mile at 138 mph. It isn’t known what additional upgrades the car had in its latest runs but it was pumping out enough power and torque to the break the stock rear axle when attempting an additional 9-second pull.

Determined to make their Camaro even faster, we’re expecting to see B&R’s records keep tumbling.
