A large number of Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep models are the subject of a new recall over shift levers that may not always end up in Park.

According to Reuters, FCA will recall 1.1 million Chrysler 300 and Dodge Chargers made between 2012 and 2014 and 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokees, following an investigation from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration over complaints from owners that the vehicles rolled away even though they were intended to be in park.

FCA released a statement Friday, and said it and the agency, “found some drivers have exited their vehicles without first selecting “PARK.” Such behavior may pose a safety risk if a vehicle’s engine is still running.”

The Company is aware of 41 injuries that are potentially related. The vehicles involved in these events were inspected and no evidence of equipment failure was found.

It also stated the shifter design was changed to be more intuitive and prevent such rollaways on the 2015 Chrysler and Dodge models and the 2016 Grand Cherokee. Such electronic shifters have been the ire of some groups that say they fix what wasn’t broken with traditional PRNDL arrangements for little gain.
