Feel like test driving a Volkswagen? Well, why not just order the experience at your doorstep?

The premise is simple and works very similar to Uber and Lyft; instead of having to go to the showroom, the car you want to test drive gets deliver at your location. Although available only in Sweden – for now – the German car maker’s “Instant Test Drive” feature works by sending a request on the project’s official page from any smartphone, requesting a car that you would you like to drive.

What makes this service interesting is that a customer can chose whether to drive the requested vehicle from A to B, or just take a trip around town. Either way, to us that sounds as a quick, effortless and free ride to your destination, albeit that means coming up with car-related questions to keep the Volkswagen official staff accompanying the vehicle busy and oblivious at your elaborate freeloading ruse.

Needless to say, the initiative seems admirable and interesting. It was launched in Sweden on April 13, but it if proves to be successful, other places could benefit from it. We don’t see what could go wrong.
