After stunning the crowd at Villa d’Este earlier this year, BMW’s 8-Series concept dropped by Frankfurt, as if we needed more of a reminder of its much-anticipated arrival in 2018.

It’s obvious that its long and athletic exterior really help it stand out, especially in concept form where it’s also wearing a set of rather large 21″ lightweight alloy wheels.

Add the futuristic taillights, pointy front end, muscular arches, sloping roofline, fender vents and tailpipes shaped like you’re back in geometry class, and you’ve got yourself a very attractive blueprint for what’s about to come next out of Bavaria.

The concept present in Frankfurt is obviously the same one BMW brought to Villa d’Este, so there’s no use in trying to find any differences between the two. Same body color, same dual tone interior with the red stitching.

While nothing has been made official, rumor has it that the production version of the 8-Series concept will be utilizing a 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder unit, a 4.4-liter turbo V8, as well as the 6.6-liter V12 turbo from the M760Li xDrive.
