How many people can honestly say they drove flat out on the Nürburgring? Not that many, obviously, but the driver of the grey Daihatsu Cuore you’ll see in the following video is probably one of them.

Now, the first question that comes to mind is, who on Earth drives an old, 54-hp Daihatsu Cuore on the Nordschleife? Well, apparently this man does…

The video posted on YouTube on August 25 by the Racingfun Nordschleife channel shows only a few seconds of the Cuore’s performance, but they are enough to showcase some supernatural reflexes from the driver.

We first see an E46 M3 going pretty fast and clean through the corner, only to be followed by a Cuore that goes airborne for a split second after riding the inside curb. The car is on its two left wheels and it seems inevitable that it’ll flip over. Yet, somehow, its driver manages to keep it under control and tilt the car in the opposite direction, allowing the right wheels to touch down and prevent what looked like a big accident.

To top it off, he also had the presence of mind to slam on the brakes in order to avoid hitting the guardrails after landing. If this isn’t a strong candidate for Nürburgring’s epic save of the year, we don’t know which one is. The people who saw the entire scene live were certainly amazed, judging from their enthusiastic cheers and applause.
