Semi Smashes Into SUV After Hitting A Pickup, Cammer Takes A Beating Too

This extremely scary crash took place last weekend in Canada, after the driver of a white pickup truck cut off a semi truck that was running a yellow light.

While the semi might have been going a bit too fast, it’s clear that the contact with the pickup caused the accident. On the other hand, forcing a yellow light in a vehicle that can’t exactly stop on a dime can be risky. Either way, the worst part is what followedthe initial collision.

After clipping the pickup, the semi immediately veered off to the left, straight into stationary traffic waiting at the light on the other side of the road. The Honda crossover took a direct hit, to the amazement of the person driving the dashcam vehicle.

Unfortunately, the trailer toppled over and hit the cammer too. As everything came to a halt, we can see the driver remove the dashcam and proceeding to make a call on his mobile phone, probably to emergency services. We can also tell that his hands were shaking, which is only natural after this kind of experience, and that one of his fingers was bleeding – perhaps from broken glass shards from the right window.

Overall, he probably only suffered minor injuries. We hope that everyone else involved in this crash escaped with minor injuries (or, if possible, none at all) as well.

The semi was going a bit too fast? Wow.

    • dufonrafal .

No, it was cut off by a car that he hit, destroying his steering in the process.

It was going too fast to stop at the light, it happens. Had it tried to stop it most likely would have been in the intersection. The white truck thought it was going to stop so they decided to take the turn.

I hope they threw the book at the idiot in the white pickup that caused this. Most people who drive cars are totally unaware that 80,000 lbs (what a typical loaded 18 wheeler weighs) does not stop on a dime like a 4,000 car. In 2012 the US DOT mandated RSD (Reduced Stopping Distance) brakes mandating that they stop a 100 ft shorter (250 ft vs 350 ft) with that in this case it wouldn’t have made any difference

The white pick-up didn’t expect that truck… But the truck was very fast for the situation. Of course he cannot stop like a car but he should adjust his speed for the intersection if he has to brake, like here a red light.
