Three years after it went on sale, the fourth-gen Renault Megane has welcomed a new diesel engine. The 1.7-liter Blue dCi is available for the entire range and it’s offered alongside the Blue dCi 95 and Blue dCi 115 diesel burners.

The unit pushes out 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) and 340 Nm (251 lb-ft) of torque from 1,750 rpm. It’s matched to a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox allowing the hatchback to accelerate to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 9.3 seconds. The Estate is 0.2 seconds slower, but top speed is identical in both models: 205 km/h (127 mph).

Joining the Megane Saloon Limited is the new Megane Estate Limited. It features starry black side mirror casings, tinted rear windows, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and ‘Limited’ badges on the front fenders and on the door sills.

Renault has already started taking orders for the Megane 150 in its home market, France. Pricing starts from €32,800 ($36,591) for the Saloon and €1,000 ($1,116) more for the Estate, which are available in the Intens, Business Intens and SL Gt-Line grades.

The Megane Estate Limited costs €24,900 ($27,778) with the 115 PS (113 hp / 84 kW) petrol engine. It’s also available with the 140 PS (138 hp / 103 kW) unit, with a manual or an EDC gearbox, and with the 115 PS (113 hp / 84 kW) diesel.
