This 1967 Porsche 911 S 2.7 Is Like A Retrolicious German Bumblebee

This is a 1967 Porsche 911 2.7 with some serious racing pedigree and could be the perfect vehicle for car enthusiasts who want to experience driving in its purest form.

Long before advanced electronics started to dominate performance cars, Porsche 911s allowed owners to experience what driving is all about. The previous owner of this particular 1967 model clearly made the most of that and raced it for approximately 20 years, as per the Bring A Trailer auction.

The car originally left the factory painted in Bahama Yellow but the previous owner painted it in Signal Yellow. The current owner more recently had the car resprayed in Signal Yellow and completed it with painted black stripes and Porsche side script decals. There are also new headlights, racing bucket seats, and 911R-style taillights. In recent years, the car has also been equipped with louvered acrylic rear vent windows, a new front windshield, custom rear decklid grille, and rear window hold-down straps.

Powering the sports car is a 2.7-liter naturally-aspirated flat-six engine driving the rear wheels through a five-speed manual trans-axle gearbox. To improve the car’s track credentials, it was outfitted with a close-ratio gear set, MSD electronic ignition, a motorsport-spec fuel cell, fire-suppression system, and a half roll cage.

The 911 is being sold with a Porsche Certificate of Authentic and a clean Nebraska title in the seller’s name. The odometer sits at 35,000 miles (56,327 km) and at the time of writing, the highest bid was sitting at $50,000 with seven days left in the auction.
