Nissan’s in-house tuner Autech will display its vision of the recently facelifted Serena minivan at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month.

Available in Nissan’s Japanese dealerships from November 15, the 2020 Serena by Autech gets subtle upgrades compared to the version that was already available before the facelift.

Key styling changes include the new front grille with an emphasized dot pattern, blue LED DRLs above the fog lights, and redesigned 16-inch alloy wheels that are exclusive to Serena e-Power models. All Autech models feature two-tone exterior liveries including Diamond Black-painted roof and A-pillars. Seven body colors are available, including Autech’s signature Caspian Blue paint.

Inside the roomy cabin, which offers up to seven seats, customers will find new soft leatherette upholstery in a black and blue color combination and “Autech” blue lettering embossed on the front seats’ backrests. The special blue hue is also found on the door trims and flat-bottomed sports steering wheel.

As with the regular 2020 Serena, other changes include improved sound insulation and an expanded suite of safety systems which adds Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention and Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Intelligent Emergency Braking, a Road sign detection function and Emergency Assist for Pedal Misapplication.

The engine lineup includes 2.0-liter S-Hybrid models available with both FWD and AWD and the FWD-only e-Power series hybrid, which features a 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine that charges a small battery pack. Prices in Japan start from ¥3,236,200, or roughly $29,800 at current exchange rates.
