Driving a pickup truck from 1941 nowadays is a pretty rare thing. However, what’s even more rare is something like this Willys restomod, featuring 241 handcrafted body modifications, plus a supercharged 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine.

The vehicle is offered as part of the Mecum Gallery Exposition, through Mecum Auctions, and will be on-site for inspection and purchase for the duration of the event, which lasts until January 12.

It was built by Legens Hot Rod Shop in Martins, Tennessee, using a custom steel tube chassis, 20 and 22-inch wheels (front and rear), intercooled Magnuson supercharger, disc brakes, independent front and rear suspension and a great deal more.

It’s a goofy looking thing, we have to admit. That front end looks like it was taken straight out of a Pixar Car movie, yet so much work went into it that it would be impossible for us not to respect the craftsmanship.

It also comes with rack and pinion steering, Kugel underdash master cylinder/pedal assembly, Inland Empire polished aluminum driveshaft, and a custom exhaust with Magnaflow stainless steel mufflers.

Inside, there’s air conditioning, a custom dashboard, custom gauges, custom-built floor mounted console, Eclipse DVD stereo with Pioneer speakers, Dynamat insulation, Buffalo leather bucket seats, BMW velour carpeting and the steering wheel from a 1951 Holden, featuring a custom horn button.

As for the 5.7-liter HEMI V8, the ad doesn’t say how much power it’s sending down to those beefy 285/35 rear wheels, but we wouldn’t be at all surprised if this thing was at least as quick as a hot hatchback. There’s also no mention of price, or even an estimation of what a winning bid would look like. It won’t come cheap though, that’s for sure.
