The facelifted Vauxhall Insignia will reach UK dealerships this summer, bringing subtle design tweaks, new engines and tech, and one less body style.

Yes, the Insignia Sports Tourer is no longer offered in Britain, making the Insignia Grand Sport five-door liftback (simply called Insignia now) the only body style available. 2021MY Vauxhall Insignia prices start at £23,120 ($28,450) on-the-road, which is roughly three grand more than the current model.

The automaker explains the increased base price with the all-new range of powertrains, revised tech and modified trim level structure which brings more standard kit than before. In Germany, the facelifted Opel Insignia starts at €31,790 ($34,600), including VAT.

The new Insignia is available to order now in five trim levels: SE Nav, SRi Nav, SRi VX-Line Nav, Ultimate Nav and GSi. Customers opting for the base SE Nav model get pretty much all the features an average user would ever need.

Interior highlights include a 7-inch Multimedia Navi infotainment and sat nav system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, comfort front seats, dual-zone climate control, cruise control with intelligent speed limiter, multifunction steering wheel wrapped in leather, and 60/40 split-folding rear seats.

On the outside, the 2021 Vauxhall Insignia comes with standard LED headlights and taillights, LED DRLs, front and rear parking sensors, 17-inch alloys, electrically adjustable/heated door mirrors, and more.

The standard safety kit includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision alert, following distance indicator, lane departure warning with lane assist, traffic sign recognition, ESP, ABS, hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring, six airbags, and more.

The base engine is a 1.4-liter turbocharged three-cylinder petrol making 145 PS (143 HP), mated to a standard six-speed manual transmission or an optional CVT. Next up is a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder diesel rated at 122 PS (120 HP) and available with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed auto.

Customers can also opt for a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel producing 174 PS (172 HP) in combination with a six-speed manual or eight-speed auto. There’s a 200 PS (197 HP) 2.0-liter turbo-four petrol too that comes exclusively with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Finally, the range-topping Insignia GSi packs a 230 PS (227 HP) turbo-four petrol hooked to a nine-speed auto and AWD as standard.
