The Rivian R1T is one of the most promising all-electric pickup trucks currently under development and unlike some of the others in the works, is being marketed towards those adventurous types rather than tradespeople that use pickups for work.

However, what would a Rivian R1T Heavy Duty look like if given the tick of approval for production to rival ICE kings such as the Ford F-Series Super Duty, Chevrolet Silverado HD, GMC Sierra HD, and Ram Heavy Duty? That’s what this illustration from the Rivian Owners Forum shows.

As standard, the R1T will land with 11,000 lbs (4,989 kg) of towing capacity and a payload of 1,760 lbs (798 kg). In Heavy Duty guise, those figures could be increased with more powerful electric motors as well as a series of suspension modifications.

On a visual front, the R1T Heavy Duty depicted sports a widened rear with four rear wheels to give it just as much road presence as the gas-guzzling Heavy Duty pickup trucks we’re familiar with.

We happen to think the Rivian absolutely looks the part like this but with no indication from the electric startup that it is working on such a variant of the R1T, we don’t expect to see it become a reality.

Fortunately, the standard R1T is shaping up to be good enough on its own. A handful of variants will be offered, starting off with a base version featuring four electric motors delivering 402 hp and working alongside a 105 kWh battery pack. A long-range model will also hit the market with 700 hp, 825 lb-ft (1,120 Nm) of torque, and a 180 kWh battery pack while a performance variant will be sold with a smaller 135 kWh battery pack as well as 753 hp and 825 lb-ft (1,120 Nm).
