The C8 Corvette Stingray, Audi R8 V10 RWD and Porsche 911 Carrera S were raced against the clock at the Hockenheim GP with the same driver behind the wheel, in order to see which one is quicker.

So, does the American mid-engined sports car have what it takes to challenge the two Germans? It sure has the performance on its side, with less than 3 seconds required for the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run thanks to its 6.2-liter V8 that puts out 495 HP (502 PS / 369 kW) and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) of torque when equipped with the optional Z51 pack.

The R8 V10 RWD, on the other hand, which has returned for 2020 as a production model rather than a limited series, can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.7 seconds in Coupe and 3.8 seconds in Spyder guise, and will keep pushing up to 199 and 198 mph (320-318 km/h) respectively. Audi’s supercar is powered by a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 that produces 532 HP (540 PS / 397 kW) and 398 lb-ft (540 Nm).

The new 992 Carrera S is the least powerful of the three, with its twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder making 444 HP (450 PS / 331 kW) and 391 lb-ft (530 Nm). However, it is just as quick as the fixed-roof version of the R8 RWD to 62 mph, while topping out at 191 mph (308 km/h).
