Mercedes-Benz To Show The New 2022 C-Class This Month?

Mercedes-Benz is making the final preparations for the unveiling of the 2022 C-Class, which appears to be sooner than some imagined.

The brand’s all-new BMW 3-Series and Audi A4 fighter will reportedly debut later this month, with AutoBild Spain claiming that they have confirmed February 23 as the big date.

The C-Class Sedan and C-Class Estate are expected to be the first body styles to go on sale, followed by the Coupe and Convertible, possibly later in the year or in the first half of 2022. It’s unclear yet when the jacked-up All-Terrain model will make its debut.

All C-Class models will share many design details seen on the bigger E-Class and S-Class, with sleeker and more angular lighting units on both ends, though the silhouette will be familiar. The defining feature of the cockpit will be the new MBUX portrait-style infotainment system, giving it a modern feel alongside the free-standing digital instrument cluster. The overall design of the cabin will look similar to the company’s flagship sedan, and if anything, should be one of the best-looking in the segment.

The engine lineup will be heavily revised, with pretty much every power unit getting mild-hybrid assistance, save for the full plug-in hybrid assemblies, obviously, which will be part of the offering. The range-topping AMG is believed to ditch the twin-turbo V8 of the current generation in favor of either a straight-six unit or a 2.0-liter four-pot from the new AMG 45 range being adapted for the upcoming C63, with electrification, so it should be very interesting to find out what will power the brand’s next M3 rival.
