Few race cars are likely to have been driven as hard as a rally car, but this one has seen some stuff. It is the 2002 Subaru WRX STi used by Ken Block when he jumped 171 feet to set a world record for the Discovery Channel.

The car has been updated to look like a 2006 model and has had a thorough going-over from Vermont SportsCar. That’s the team that builds the Subaru Rally Team USA race car that Travis Pastrana drives. As such it’s not just a stunt car, it’s also a serious competitor.

In fact, it’s the first car that Block ever won a national championship rally win in. In 2006, long before he was the star of track and screen, Block won the Rally America Rally of the 100 Acre Woods in this very WRX.

The pictures do hint at this car’s past excesses. The duct tape sticker with “fuel tank has hole” scrawled across it may serve as a warning to buyers. But they may be relieved to hear that it’s not exactly being sold as-is.

According to Wall Street Motorsport, the online auction site through which the car is being sold, the car is undergoing a refresh. That includes a fluid flush, a new cam belt, and a brand new fuel cell that, presumably has no holes in it.

The car’s buyer’s fee (that is, the extra fee that buyers have to pay the auction house after a sale) will be donated to the Make a Wish foundation. The auction closes on March 3, 2021.
